Dr. M. Kabir Hassan is a Professor of Finance discipline at the University of New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. He is a reputed financial economist with consulting, research, and teaching experiences in developmental finance, capital and capital markets, Islamic and corporate finance, investments, monetary economics, microeconomics, macroeconomics, international trade, and finance, etc. He as long as consulting offices with the World Bank (WB), International Monetary Fund (IMF), Islamic Development Bank (IDB), African Development Bank (AfDB), USAID, Peoples' Republic of Bangladesh, Organization of Islamic Conferences (OIC), Federal Reserve Bank (FRB), USA, and many different corporations, private organizations, and universities all over the world.
Prof. Hassan is the Full Professor of Finance and the winner of the prestigious 2016 IDB Prize in Islamic Finance and Banking. He has also endured the 2019 University of Louisiana System Outstanding Faculty Member Award, the 2019 UNO Research, Creativity and Scholarly Career Award, and the 2018 UNO Gordon H “Nick” Mueller International Leadership Medallion. He is the editorial member of some reputed Islamic Finance and Banking Journals globally. Prof. Hassan has more than 330 papers published in reputed academic peer-review journals to his credit. He has supervised 63 doctoral students and acted as an External examiner for 50 dissertations and many of his students are now well-placed in the academic fields, government sectors, and private services. He has edited and published a lot of books. A frequent traveler, Prof. Hassan gives lectures and workshops in the US, UK, and various countries has presented over 409 research articles at professional seminars and conferences, and have delivered 185 invited papers/seminars.
